An Indigenous Missionary Organization in North Kerala
Founded in 1974 by Rev: P. P. Thomas and some of his parishioners who were all migrant farmers from the south of Kerala. Under the leadership and teaching ministry of Rev: P.P. Thomas, this group of people realized that God had transplanted them to Malabar, with the ultimate purpose of reaching the unevangelised Northern half of their State. We were formally registered in 1976 as a Charitable Society. Rev: Thomas was promoted to glory in 2005 and now, Rev: Dr. Johnson Thekkadayil, an ordained presbyter of ECI leads the organisation as its Director.
Our beloved Appachan and the Founder President of Malabar Bible Fellowship
The Malabar Bible Fellowship (MBF) was formed in 1974, with the aim of fulfilling the Great Commission of the Lord Jesus Christ in the Malabar region (northern districts) of Kerala State where the Christian population is barely 2%.
The MBF was founded in 1974 by the late Rev. P.P. Thomas and a small group of farmers whose pastor he was. They were part of a larger community of Christians who had migrated from Travancore, a few decades earlier. Rev. and Mrs. Thomas, were themselves missionaries in Karnataka in the fifties and had come to Nilambur, (presently in the Malappuram district), to serve as the pastor and vicar of these faithful believers. Under the teaching and leadership of Rev. Thomas this small group of Christians were inspired and encouraged to reach out to the un-evangelized in Malabar.
